WACO, Texas – No. 19 Texas Baseball held on for an 11-9 win over Baylor to open the series at on Friday Baylor Ballpark.
The Longhorns (25-11, 7-3) pounded out 15 hits, as every player in the Texas batting order had at least one hit and at least one RBI. Six of the Longhorn starters had two hits, while Garret Guillemette was the only one with two RBI.
Lucas Gordon pitched six shutout innings, scattering five hits and issuing just one walk in the game to earn his fourth win of the season.
