ATLANTA — The No. 18 Texas men's golf team defeated Oklahoma State in the championship match to capture the 2019 East Lake Cup. Sophomore Parker Coody, senior Spencer Soosman, and freshman Travis Vick all won their matches to secure the victory for the Longhorns in the final tournament of the fall schedule.
"I'm really excited for our guys. Anytime you win it's a big deal," head coach John Fields said. "To come in here and get a victory at East Lake, shoot 10-under par in the [stroke] play round and really make a little bit of a statement - not to anybody else, but to ourselves - because we need a little bit of validation.
