AUSTIN, Texas – Lebarron Johnson Jr. pitched eight shutout innings to lead No. 16 Texas Baseball to a 2-0 win over Cal Poly on Friday in front of a crowd of 7,845 at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns (4-1) will go for the series win over the Mustangs on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Johnson was outstanding on the mound, tossing eight scoreless innings with eight strikeouts to pick up his first win of the season. He allowed just two hits and two walks in his eight innings of work.
Johnson faced very little trouble in the game, never allowing more than one baserunner in an inning and retiring the final eight batters he faced.
