AUSTIN, Texas – Matteo Bocchi pitched three hitless innings of relief to lead No. 14 Texas Baseball to a 3-1 win over Rice Tuesday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The win was the 300th of head coach David Pierce's career. Pierce has compiled a career record of 300-169 in eight seasons as a head coach.
Bocchi came out of the bullpen in the fifth inning and pitched three scoreless innings to pick up his first win of the season. The senior struck out three batters and the only base runner he allowed was a hit batter.
