AUSTIN, Texas — After dropping two-straight Big 12 Conference games, the No. 13/12 Texas women's basketball team put an emphatic end to that skid Saturday evening as it took down West Virginia, 73-57, inside the Frank Erwin Center.
With the win, the Longhorns run their record to 12-3 overall on the season with a 2-2 mark in league play. WVU drops to 8-6, 1-3.
Junior guard Aliyah Matharu erupted for 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting to lead the way offensively. The D.C. native also converted 8-of-11 tries at the free throw line and knocked down a pair of triples in the win.
