No. 11/12 Football overpowers Rice in season opener, 37-10

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas defeated Rice University 37-10 on Saturday in their season opener.

Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell scored a touchdown with a pass from Quinn Ewers to take a 23-3

lead—Mitchell's first touchdown as a Texas player. Defensive back Austin Jordan made his first

career interception.

Ewers completed 19 passes for 260 yards and accounted for four touchdowns (three passing and one rushing), tying his most touchdowns accounted for in a game.
