The NCAA Baseball Selection Committee snubbed Texas Baseball from the list of 16 Regional host sites. The official list was announced Sunday night after the conference tournaments concluded.
It appears that the decision came down to Texas and Houston. And, Houston was given the nod by virtue of winning the American Conference Tournament on Sunday.
If Texas would have won the Big 12 Tournament on Sunday, the Longhorns likely would have grabbed one of the last Regional host spots. But, the Horns’ one-run loss against Oklahoma State put Texas on someone else’s field in the NCAA Tournament.
