Led by graduate first baseman Joley Mitchell and sophomore pitcher Teagan Kavan, the No. 6 Texas Longhorns powered past the No. 3 Florida Gators by a score of 3-0 in Game 1 of the 2025 Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City on Thursday.
What started as a low-scoring pitcher’s duel quickly turned into a comfortable Texas lead after back-to-back solo home runs by Mitchell and senior left fielder Katie Stewart in the sixth inning.
