WACO, Texas – The University of Texas Men's Tennis team swept the singles and doubles titles at the ITA Texas Regional Championships on Monday in Waco, Texas.
Top-seeded junior Christian Sigsgaard claimed both as he squared off against teammate and second-seeded junior Yuya Ito in the all-UT singles final and won his second championship of the day (6-2, 7-5). The match was capped by an impressive extended rally on championship point, which Sigsgaard eventually won on a lob.
Neither player lost a set during the tournament until Sigsgaard defeated Ito in set one of their match.
