In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), Texas Athletics is proud to introduce Longhorns Por Vida, a celebration of the numerous contributions Latinx-Americans have made to enrich the tapestry of American culture. This month, we will highlight the achievements of some of our student-athletes, alumni and former staff who identify as Hispanic or Latinx.
About Hispanic Heritage Month
Starting in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week, the observation was expanded to cover its current 30-day period and enacted into law on August 17, 1988. Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans who trace their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, and Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean.
