Shaka Smart and his staff remain active on the recruiting trail, with the latest example of those efforts coming in the form of Nederland shooting guard Hayden Hefner, who announced an offer from the Texas Longhorns on Monday morning.
Currently considered a three-star talent ranked within the top 250 nationally, per the 247Sports Composite, Hefner’s Texas offer is now his fifth, with the remaining handful featuring Oklahoma, Houston, Rice, and Texas A&M. Other programs such as Texas Tech, Clemson, Iowa State, and Notre Dame have been in contact, as well, courtesy of a strong AAU circuit with the Houston Defenders.
