The Texas Longhorns won’t have to wait until mid-October to learn the decision of coveted edge rusher Princely Umanmielen.
On Monday, the local Manor star brought his recruitment to an unexpected close, announcing his commitment to Tom Herman’s program over options including Oklahoma, Texas A&M, LSU, and Oregon.
Umanmielen originally aimed to extend his recruitment a bit longer with a planned commitment date of Oct. 15. There there was reason for optimism in Austin, prior to his unexpected pledge, Umanmielen’s recruitment was a bit of a toss up and sticking to his original commitment date would have afforded Texas A&M the opportunity to have the final say during an Oct.
