AMES, Iowa – Texas claimed two Big 12 individual Indoor Championship titles on the first day of competition.
Kristine Blazevica defended her indoor pentathlon title on Friday after winning the competition with 4,308 points. She opened the day with a third-place finish in the 60m hurdles, matching her personal-best time of 8.03 seconds.
The sophomore added a second-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.72m (5-7.75). After a third-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 12.47m, she added two event wins in the long jump (6.10m/20-0.25) and the 800m with a time of 2:18.
