Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant has kept his on eye on Texas head coach Shaka Smart over the past year. And so far, he likes what he sees from his alma mater's new coach.
In a recent interview with CampusInsiders, Durant raved about Smart's impact on the program since he took over in April 2015.
"He's done a phenomenal job," Durant said. "Coming [from] Florida for four years and then [he] went to VCU, he's just a great basketball mind."
While Durant was coached by Rick Barnes at Texas, he said it didn't take long for Smart to earn his support.
