BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Former University of Texas basketball standout Tre Johnson was selected as the No. 6 pick by the Washington Wizards in the 2025 NBA Draft on Wednesday evening at Barclays Center. Johnson's pick at No. 6 marks a tie for the fifth-highest NBA Draft selection in program history and highest since Mohamed Bamba went No. 6 in 2018.
Johnson became the 10th lottery pick in the NBA Draft in UT program history and first since Jaxson Hayes in 2019. Since the NBA Draft lottery started in 1985, UT has now produced 10 lottery picks (a draft selection whose position is determined through the lottery).
