Austin, Texas – Texas Men's Tennis senior Yuya Ito was named the UTR/ITA National Player of the Month for October, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Tuesday. After freshman Siem Woldeab earned the award in September, a Longhorn has claimed the newly-created honor in both of its first two months.
During October, Ito won the ITA All-American Championships singles title in Tulsa, Okla., and then partnered with senior Christian Sigsgaard to capture the doubles title at the ITA Texas Regionals in Waco.
At the ITA All-American, Ito ran off six-straight singles victories, five of which came against opponents ranked in the top 33 with four of those in the top 25 and two in the top 15.
