Hours after MLB retirement, Troy Tulowitzki named assistant baseball coach at Texas

Hours after announcing his retirement from Major League Baseball, five-time All-Star Troy Tulowitzki has officially landed a new gig.

Tulowitzki, who spent 13 years in the majors before hanging up his cleats for good, was announced as a new assistant on the Texas baseball coaching staff Thursday evening.

Tulowitzki, who played college baseball at Cal State Long Beach prior to his professional career, joins David Pierce's staff as Texas looks to rebound from a 27-27 finish in 2019.
