BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Texas Diving freshman Hailey Hernandez won gold in the 3-meter springboard at the USA Diving Winter Nationals on Friday inside the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center at the University of Indiana. It marked her second USA Diving championship of the week after winning the synchronized 3-meter springboard event with her partner Delaney Schnell in the second night of the championships.
Hernandez finished with a final score of 656.75 points, seven points ahead of the runner-up. She built a substantial lead during the prelim, scoring 340.95 points in the morning session to head into the final with a 34.
