BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Hailey Hernandez and her partner Delaney Schnell won the gold medal at the USA Diving Winter Nationals in the synchronized 3-meter springboard event.
Hernandez, the 3-meter Texas program record holder, competed in her first synchronized event of the season. The freshman and Arizona's Schnell led the competition after the first six dives of the competition with 290.40 points.
Hernandez and Schnell never looked back in the finals and road the top spot all the way through the finish. The pair finished with 573.30 points, 61.2 points in front of second-place.
