For two months, new Texas coach Tom Herman mispronounced the name of quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
He still likes what the Austin Westlake product brings to the table. Ehlinger (pronounced with a hard "g") was the Gatorade player of the year in Texas a junior - accounting for 71 touchdowns -- only to battle through an injury-plagued senior season, twice returning only to get hurt again.
"Probably a lot of players would have said, 'That's it. I'm shutting it down,'" Herman said. "Not Sam. He said, 'Get me back on the field as fast as you can.'"
A January enrollee, Ehlinger is the fourth-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports composite.
