Last year, former Allen quarterback sensation Kyler Murray from Oklahoma became the fourth player from D-FW to win the Heisman Trophy, joining Woodrow Wilson's Tim Brown (1987), Highland Park's Doak Walker (1948) and Woodrow Wilson's Davey O'Brien (1938).
D-FW players have been the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft two of the last three years, with Texas A&M defensive lineman Myles Garrett from Arlington Martin going first to the Cleveland Browns in 2017 and Murray going No. 1 to the Arizona Cardinals in 2019.
