BUDAPEST, Hungary – Texas junior Townley Haas won gold for the United States and UT senior Joseph Schooling added bronze Saturday at the 17th FINA World Championships.
Team USA won gold in the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay, and Haas earned his medal by competing in the event's preliminary round. He helped the Americans qualify second for the final with his split of 48.32 seconds on the relay's second leg.
