ATHENS, Ga. – The third matchup of Thursday's quarterfinal round of the 2025 SEC Softball Tournament began with Texas scoring a first inning run and ended with the Longhorns scoring a seventh inning run as the first-year conference member earned a 7-6 victory over Ole Miss to advance to the tournament's semifinals on Friday afternoon.
Reese Atwood, Katie Stewart and Joley Mitchell all produced run-scoring plate appearances during the bottom of the first that saw the Texas offense send nine to the plate and take a 4-0 lead courtesy of three walks and three base hits.
