INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Former University of Texas star Alison Gibson and partner Krysta Palmer grabbed the lead after Sunday's preliminary and semifinal rounds of the Women's Synchronized 3-meter Springboard competition at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Diving. The duo will look to earn their spot on the official Team USA roster for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics with a first-place finish in the final round on Thursday evening.
During the five dives of the morning preliminary session, Gibson and Palmer posted a total score of 291.45 and built a lead of almost 25 points over the second-place tandem of World Cup finalists Sarah Bacon and Kassidy Cook.
