Texas Longhorns football finished their first Southeastern Conference season with a 13-3 overall record that included an SEC Championship appearance and eventual College Football Playoffs semifinals loss to the eventual champion, the Ohio State Buckeyes.
However, two-out-of-three of Texas’ losses came at the hands of SEC foe Georgia.
Earlier this week, a reporter jokingly asked Georgia head coach Kirby Smart if it will “be tough watching Texas hoist the SEC championship trophy later this year [in 2025]?”
“In what sport, baseball or basketball or ... ?” Smart replied, per Sports Illustrated.
