Former Longhorn Kevin Durant set for June 30 free agency decision

The world of NBA free agency is going to be wild this summer. Heading into the summer, it looked as if the former Texas Longhorns basketball superstar power forward Kevin Durant (currently with the Golden State Warriors) was going to be the headliner. That was until KD ruptured his Achilles tendon and is now set to miss around a year-and-a-half of action on the court. The emergence of the Toronto Raptors star forward Kawhi Leonard in winning the NBA Finals took the spotlight away from Durant.

Nontheless, even the version of Durant that’s already 30-years-old and will take at least 16-18 months to recover from this injury to his Achilles is worth a max contract for around three or five years from almost any team in the NBA.
