Football’s Worthy named to Hornung Award Honor Roll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Texas sophomore wide receiver Xavier Worthy was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll, the Louisville Sports Commission announced on Tuesday.

Worthy, a Fresno, Calif. native, caught seven passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns in Texas' 38-20 victory over West Virginia. He also threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Ja'Tavion Sanders and served as the punt returner for the Longhorns.

The Louisville Sports Commission successfully launched the Paul Hornung Award in 2010 to honor its namesake and native son, and to promote outstanding performances by versatile college football players who often go unnoticed.
