1. The quarterback battle is over
Head coach Charlie Strong kept Longhorn fans in suspense leading up to Sunday’s matchup with Notre Dame. The third-year head coach refused to name a starter during training camp to keep information away from the Fighting Irish.
But it didn’t take long for a quarterback to emerge once fans packed Darrell K Royal — Texas Memorial Stadium. Strong went with Shane Buchele to start the game, and the true freshman answered the call.
