AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football senior QB Sam Ehlinger and junior JACK Joseph Ossai were named semifinalists for national awards on Monday. Ehlinger collected recognition from the Davey O'Brien Award and Wuerffel Trophy, awards which honor college football's top quarterback, while Ossai was named a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which honors college football's top defensive player.
Ehlinger, an Austin native, has competed 184-of-306 passes (60.1%) for 2,406 yards and 25 touchdowns to five interceptions this season. He has also rushed for 382 yards and eight touchdowns to tally 2,788 yards of total offense and 33 total touchdowns.
