Two former standouts coming out of the Texas Longhorns football program reached headlines lately thanks to kind words sent out to a young safety for the Baltimore Ravens. Second-year Ravens safety and former Texas All-American star DeShon Elliott got high praise from the former Seattle Seahawks All-Pro safety Earl Thomas this off-season.
Elliott and Thomas are both big time names on the Forty Acres. Only one was coached up by current head Texas football coach Tom Herman. Elliott was under the Herman coaching regime for one year and Thomas was under former Texas head coach Mack Brown (who was recently hired to replace Larry Fedora with the North Carolina Tar Heels).
