BUDAPEST – Tara Davis-Woodhall won the silver medal representing USA at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in the long jump off her first round jump of 6.91-meters.
Davis-Woodhall's second-place finish is the best ever finish by a male or female Longhorn jumper (long jump, high jump or triple jumper) at the Olympic or World Championships. It's also the best finish at any major international competition since Marquise Goodwin won silver at the 2015 Pan American Games.
Davis-Woodhall took the lead off her very first jump of 6.91m, but fell to second after Ivana Vuleta's second attempt of 7.
