AUSTIN, Texas – No. 4 Texas Track and Field's Tara Davis was named the Big 12 Athlete of the Week for the third time during the outdoor season, the league office announced Wednesday. Davis' three weekly honors is tied with Brittany Borman (Oklahoma, 2010), Raasin McIntosh (Texas, 2003) and Austra Skujyte (Kansas State, 2002) for the most in a single outdoor campaign in Big 12 history.
The Agoura Hills, Calif. native produced another historical performance this past weekend at the Texas Invitational, this time doing so in both the women's long jump and 100-meter hurdles.
