Charlie Strong on blocked extra points: Texas' long snapper not 'a big enough guy'

Head coach Charlie Strong said Texas' special team's issues are fixable after the Longhorns had three extra points blocked in the first half of their 49–31 loss to Oklahoma State.

He said the Cowboys overloaded the interior of Texas' offensive line and the Longhorns failed to adjust.

"The first guy was pinning the guard and then the second guy was running through," Strong said.

The third-year head coach also said sophomore long snapper Jak Holbrook was overwhelmed by the size of Oklahoma State's interior linemen.

"[They were] stepping right over the center," Strong said. "The center's just a small guy — he's not a big enough guy where he can snap and raise up because he's going to get knocked back.
