AUSTIN, Texas – On the heels on its best finish in program history, the Texas softball program enter the 2023 season with high expectations, again, as the Longhorns were selected third in the 2023 Big 12 Softball Preseason poll, the league announced Wednesday morning.
By earning 28 points, Texas, a four-time regular-season league champion, was selected among the Big 12's top three teams for the 13th consecutive season. Joining the Longhorns at the top of the preseason poll are preseason favorites Oklahoma, which picked up six of the seven available first-place votes, and Oklahoma State, which earned the lone remaining first-place vote.
