Texas Longhorns president Jay Hartzell spoke out Wednesday on whether the school’s band will perform “The Eyes of Texas” song, following a report in The Daily Texan that said the school band would not play the song and would not be attending the Baylor Bears game.
Hartzell said in a statement following the student paper’s report, per 247Sports, “‘The Eyes of Texas’ will be played this weekend as it has been throughout this season — and it will continue to be played at future games and events. While we would love the band be with our fans at all our games, we never planned for them to perform live this Saturday.
