Bevo’s Daily Roundup: Texas AD Chris Del Conte reportedly meets with Longhorn players

247Sports reports that Texas athletic director and Chris Del Conte recently met with Texas Longhorns football players to discuss what comes next in the 2020 college season debacle.

From 247Sports: “Sources said a few players ‘with NFL aspirations’ expressed they’re hesitant to go through full-contact practices in pads (starting Wednesday) and risk injury if they’re not assured of having a season this fall. That assurance is hard to find right now as speculation swirls that the Big Ten and Pac-12 could be close to announcing they don’t plan to play football this fall. Sources close to the situation [said] even though the Big 12 would like to start the 2020 football season this fall, there would be growing pressure on the presidents in the Big 12, SEC and ACC to follow suit if the Big Ten and/or Pac-12 announced no football this fall.
