Former Texas Longhorns quarterback Shane Buechele, who transferred to join the SMU Mustangs as a graduate transfer, didn’t hear his name called during the 2021 NFL Draft.
He is, however, a professional football player as of this past week, when the Kansas City Chiefs signed Buechele to backup former NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.
