We have not the slightest idea why, exactly, but apparently college football coaches who spoke on the condition of anonymity are opening up about the Texas Longhorns to Athlon.
On the Longhorns’ disappointing 2019 regular season finish: “This was a really young team with expectations they couldn’t meet,” an opposing coach told Athlon. “I thought they finished the season playing really well down the stretch, which speaks to the leadership of [head coach] Tom [Herman] and his staff.”
On senior-to-be quarterback Sam Ehlinger and Texas’ rushing attack heading into 2020: “Sam Ehlinger is a real dude,” another opposing coach said.
