AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas junior Max Belyeu was selected in the Competitive Balance Round B (No. 62 overall) by the Colorado Rockies in the 2025 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Sunday evening.
One of the most prolific hitters in college baseball, Belyeu notched a .318 average with 27 home runs and 84 RBI across three seasons on The Forty Acres.
Despite missing 26 contests due to a thumb injury in 2025, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound slugger reached safely in 30 of his 32 games played. Belyeu slashed .303/.410/.576 with nine homers and 29 RBI, following up a breakout All-American campaign.
