Baseball drops series opener at Houston

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball dropped the series opener to Houston 9-1 on Friday night at Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park. The Longhorns (20-15, 7-6) will look to bounce back and even the series on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Max Grubbs started and pitched five innings, giving up five runs on six hits and being charged with his second loss of the season.

Houston grabbed an early lead with a run in the second inning after a single, a hit batter and a wild pitch. The Cougars added to their lead in the fourth with a two-run homer to center field to make the score 3-0.
