Baseball beats Louisiana in NCAA Coral Gables Regional opener

MIAMI, Fla. – Texas Baseball battled to a 4-2 win over Louisiana in the opener of the NCAA Coral Gables Regional on Friday at Alex Rodriguez Park. The Longhorns (39-20) advance to the winner's bracket and will face either Miami or Maine on Saturday at 5 p.m. CT.

Lucas Gordon started and pitched seven innings, allowing just one run on five hits. He struck out eight batters and did not issue a walk in the game. Gordon picked up the win and improved his record to 7-1 on the season.

Dylan Campbell had an incredible all-around game, going 2-for-4 with a two-run double in the seventh and extended his hitting streak to 36 games to break the Big 12 Conference record.
