Ashtin Zamzow tabbed one of USTFCCCA Regional Track & Field Athletes of the Year

AUSTIN, Texas — With the NCAA Championships about to begin at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin this week, Texas senior heptathlete Ashtin Zamzow has been named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's Field South Central Region Athlete of the Year.

Zamzow enters the NCAA Championship ranked No. 1 in the nation in the heptathlon with a school-record score of 6,148 points in the seven-event competition. That point total was the seventh best score ever by a U.S. collegian. Zamzow's 6,148-point effort was achieved in becoming Texas' first-ever Texas Relays heptathlon champion earlier this year, where she posted personal-best performances in six of the seven events.
