Despite blowing a 19-point first-half lead, Texas survived to defeat South Dakota State, 79-73, in the opening round of the NIT on Tuesday night in Austin. Now the second-seeded Longhorns host third-seeded Xavier in the Sweet 16 round on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Xavier will enter Sunday's second round 19-15 overall and fresh off a 78-64 victory over sixth-seeded Toledo on Wednesday night.
