4-star 2022 TE Jake Johnson notches Texas offer

For just the second time, the Texas Longhorns have offered a 2022 tight end prospect, with Bogart (Ga.) Oconee County product Jake Johnson becoming the latest to announce an offer from Tom Herman’s program.

Johnson’s Texas offer pushes his total to 16, with Alabama, Clemson, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Michigan, Penn State, and Texas A&M among the others involved. Of that bunch, LSU may very well have secured an early edge for the son of former NFL quarterback Brad Johnson, in that the Tigers signed his brother, 2020 quarterback Max Johnson.

The only other tight end officially on Texas’ radar thus far is Dickinson star Donovan Green, whose 37 offers reflect his status as the nation’s top tight end talent.
