AUSTIN -- The Longhorns ran past Grand Canyon, 98-60, on Saturday evening at the Frank Erwin Center in one of their better offensive performances of the season.
Here are three takeaways from Saturday's game:
1. Texas builds big first-half lead with hot shooting
Slow starts to games have occurred more often than fast ones for Texas this season. But on Saturday evening at the Erwin Center, the Longhorns got rolling on offense early and never looked back.
Texas hit nine of its first 13 shots to take a 20-8 lead. The Longhorns were just getting warmed up, though.
