3 takeaways from Texas' 65-55 win over Louisiana-Monroe: Offense still a concern as Longhorns struggle shooting the ball again

AUSTIN -- Despite another poor shooting performance, the Texas Longhorns defeated Louisiana-Monroe, 65-55, on Monday night at the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns (3-0) host The Citadel on Friday at 7 p.m.

Here are three takeaways from Monday night's game:

1. Another cold stretch offensively

It was another ugly start for Texas on Monday night, similar to the those in the first two games of the season. The Longhorns airballed multiple shots early in the first half, missed a few point-blank layups and went cold from outside.

Much like the abysmal dry spell the Longhorns experienced in the second half of their 73-71 overtime win over Arkansas in the Armed Forces Classic Friday night, Texas went inexplicably cold for a large stretch in the first half Monday.
