Following an official visit over the weekend, Baton Rouge (La.) Dunham School jumbo athlete Michael Williams opted to end his recruitment in favor of the Texas Longhorns on Monday afternoon:
Williams committed to Texas over offers from Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M, among others. The Volunteers were a serious contender in his recruitment after hosting Williams on an official visit last week, but the Longhorns made a bigger impression. Home-state LSU was also in the mix until filling up along the defensive line.
A high school quarterback, Williams projects along the defensive line in college, giving embattled position coach Oscar Giles his second important recruiting win in the last three days.
