After committing to the Texas Longhorns with a surprise decision in February, 2023 five-star El Campo running back Rueben Owens announced via Twitter Thursday that he is reopening his recruitment as he continues to take visits.
Owens was on campus as a part of the big 2023 visit weekend, spending time with the coaching staff and other high-priority Texas targets, including No. 1 2023 quarterback Arch Manning. The weekend prior to visiting Texas, Owens was in Tuscaloosa visiting the Alabama Crimson Tide, after receiving an offer from the national champions in April.
