After a late push from Auburn, Chris Thompson, the four star safety from Duncanville, has selected War Eagle over Hook ‘em. The big 6-1, 195 pound hitter is a violent tackler and excels at coming downhill in the running game, while also serving as a physical presence in the middle of the field. Blessed with a large frame, Thompson will easily carry 210-215 pounds or more at the college level.
Thompson won’t excel in pure coverage at the college level and is at his best attacking as a box safety or possibly even as an outside linebacker (watching those highlights, a future at linebacker doesn’t seem so far fetched).
