Four-Star OL Jean Delance Commits To Texas Over LSU, Michigan

Four-star offensive tackle Jean Delance (North Mesquite, TX) verabally committed to the Texas Longhorns at halftime of the Under Armour All-American Game. Delance chose the Longhorns over LSU and Michigan.

“I committed because it’s just a great place,” he said, via 247sports. “It’s a great school and not too far away from home. I felt like it was the best fit for me overall. I know I can get some early playing time, and I know that I’ll be comfortable there.”

The 6'5", 291-pounder is rated as the No. 10 tackle in the country and No. 90 overall prospect, according to 247sports.

Delance had been flirting with LSU and Michigan of late, taking official visits to each school over the course of the last month, but ultimately decided to stay close to home.

“[Texas head coach Charlie] Strong and Coach BJ played a big role in my recruitment,” Delance said. “We have a great relationship. They built a great relationship with my family. They just made us feel comfortable. I’m excited about what Coach Strong is building. I’m ready to help Texas get back on top.”
